BAB names Adnan Yousif Chairman

Manama : Adnan Ahmed Yousif, the President and Chief Executive of Al Baraka Banking Group has been selected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB). 

The decision was made during the first meeting of the association held at Al Baraka Banking Group headquarters in Bahrain Bay. The meeting also named CEO of Ithmaar Bank, Ahmed Abdulrahim as Deputy Chairman. 

On the occasion, the meeting also decided to form permanent committees and to appoint their chairmen from within and outside the Board of Directors. The committees will focus on: Risk Management, Banking Products, Human Resources, Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility, Information Technology, Islamic Banking, International Standards, and Legal and Supervisory Affairs. The meeting also approved the tasks and terms of reference of these committees.

Moving on, Dr Wahid Al Qassem, the CEO of the Association presented a business plan for its next phase, which includes expanding membership base as well as strengthening the relationship with members as well as governmental bodies. 

Commenting, Adnan Ahmed Yousif said: “Our first meeting today considers good and successful start to carry out our tasks as one team to push forward the Association.”
