UoB signs agreement with Prince Charles Foundation
Manama : The University of Bahrain (UoB) brought sustainable development to the forefront of their academic system by signing an agreement with the Prince Charles foundation yesterday.
The agreement was signed by UoB President, Professor Yousef Hamzah and the foundation’s CEO, David Toman in the presence of the Housing Minister, Bassim bin Yaqoob Alhamar.
“To collaborate with the foundation on such critical issues for the region is another matter of pride and a great success story for UoB. We are delighted to lead on the issue of environmental sustainability and development within the GCC,” said UoB President Professor Yousef Hamzah.
Association with the foundation has enabled the university to offer a jointly-developed MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development as well as a joint research around sustainable development.
“The partnership will have a great hand in developing an institutional basis for cooperation and exchange especially while devising relevant curricula in the fields of environmental studies and sustainable urbanism” added the UoB President.
Prince Charles Foundation’s Chief Executive who was pleased to develop deeper relationship with the Kingdom over the next five years said, “We look
forward to developing stronger bonds and creating some path breaking educational initiatives that prepare the youth for the future.”
