Ghazwan wins Nasser 10 grand prize
Manama : The Showjumping Championship held as part of Nasser bin Hamad Sports Games “Nasser 10” witnessed strong competition among all participants who were keen to perform their best in order to achieve competition titles.
Sami Ghazwan (55.28 seconds) riding Miss Adhari won the Grand Prix of the Adults Level 3 of competition one round directly over 30-140cm hurdles, followed in second was Mayoof Al Rumaihi (76.15) on Alvera, with Abbas Yousif (63.09 and 16 faults) on Indurado third.
Ghazwan (49.24) claimed a second win on Miss Adhari in the Adults Level 2 over 115-125cm, followed in second by Yahya Ahmed (59.59, 4 faults) on Thrust, while Mohammed Ali Radhi (62.16, 4 faults) on Contendor came in third place.
Following his successes, Ghazwan recorded a new record after winning five consecutive tournaments in only two days, including the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Championship and the Nasser bin Hamad Sports Games “Nasser 10”. He won the Open Championship, followed by his victory of the Grand Prize on the first day of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Championship, followed by the Speed Championship, as well as the Grand Prize the next day. In addition he won the gold medal for the team competition alongside Ali Essa and Ahmed Mansoor.
In the Adults Level 1 over 100-110cm, Jane Bowden (35.23) on Airforce and Ahmed Mansoor (35.23) on Mansoor BDF came in first place, followed in second place by Hassan Jaffar (38.22) on Flame, with Mayoof Al Rumaihi (29.14, eight faults) on Bresfal in third.
The Junior Level 1 against the clock saw Mayoof Al Rumaihi (27.29) on Mashallah win the title over 100-110cm, followed in second by Mustafa Dadullah (30.02) on Rainsong and Mayoof Al Rumaihi (32.29) on Airsh. Al Rumaihi (29.14) also won Junior Level 2.
