Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation gets new logo
Manama : The Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) launched its new logo and the first official 2017 competition calendar, which is part of the strategic plan developed by the Federation and goes in line with the vision of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honourary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), Founder of Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts Organization (KHK MMA), to continue the development and enhancement of Bahraini MMA.
This came during the Federation’s first press conference on Monday in the presence of Kerrith Brown, President of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), Densign White, CEO of the IMMAF and several members from schools and clubs specialized in Bahrain mixed martial arts and fans and enthusiasts of this sport.
Media personnel, Fawaz Al-Abdullah spoke about the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation and the sports under the Federation’s umbrella: MMA, Kickboxing, Wrestling, Boxing and Muai Thai.
Colonel Khalid Abdulaziz Al-Khayat, President of the BMMAF, gave a speech where he congratulated the leadership on the Kingdom’s organising and hosting the 13th edition of the 2017 F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix and the greetings of Shaikh Khalid.
Colonel Al-Khayat spoke of the Federation’s vision to deepen the youth’s connection to this sport, and attract talents to build a strong infrastructure that contributes to achieving Olympic and global achievements in this game, giving the Kingdom of Bahrain a distinct position in this sport.
Col Al-Khayat said that the Kingdom of Bahrain will host an important event, which is the fourth edition of the IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA in November and all efforts will be made to ensure the success of the championship.
Yousef Al Kooheji, Head of Talent Discovery and Training Centres Committee at the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation, spoke about the competitions to be held by the Federation in the coming period.
The Federation will organise a MMA and Boxing Championship from April 28-29, and will organise the local MMA, Wrestling and Kickboxing Championship on July 13-16 and another local MMA, Wrestling and Kickboxing Championship that will be held from August 31 to September 3.
Other speakers included Abadah Al Mulla, the Head of the Technical Committee and Competitions, Fawaz Shamsan, Head of the Public Relations and Media Committee of the Bahrain Mixed Martials Arts Federation and Kerrith Brown, President of IMMAF, expressed his great pleasure at the keenness of the BMMAF to move forward towards continuing the efforts exerted by Shaikh Khalid to promote Bahraini MMA, stressing that Bahrain has become a developed country in MMA and has many international achievements in record time and strengthening its position in this global sport.
