Sustainability key to success: Prince Salman
Manama : Sustainability is the key driver for strengthening the economic capabilities of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, said Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday.
Prince Salman was receiving the Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Anas Al Saleh and his accompanying delegation at the Riffa Palace.
Stressing on the need to promote this principle, Prince Salman said, “This will help the GCC nations maintain a steady pace of development in the face of current and future challenges.”
The Deputy King further stressed that advancing intra-regional collaboration and cooperation is a key priority, adding that this ongoing commitment has been central to accelerating growth and development across all GCC countries.
Speaking about Kuwait’s support, Prince Salman praised the kingdom for its role in intensifying GCC collaboration and cooperation. The Deputy King also hailed Kuwait’s support to the GCC Fund programme, which facilitates joint GCC development work.
The Kuwaiti delegation is in Bahrain to participate in the 106th meeting of the GCC Committee for Financial and Economic Cooperation.
Commenting on the meeting, The Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister said he is looking forward to the outcomes which would pave the way for a new level of GCC collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa; Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa; His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa; Minister of Finance, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa; Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Rasheed Al Maraj; the Ambassador of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Azzam Mubarak; Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, Dr. Mohammad Youssef Al-Hashel; The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance of Kuwait, Khalifa Mousaid Hamada; Managing Director of Kuwait Investment Authority, Farooq Bastaki; Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Hisham Ibrahim Al-Waqayan; Managing Director of International Marketing and acting CEO of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, and a number of senior Bahraini officials.
