Skydiving to enhance Kingdom’s sporting image: Prime Minister

Manama : His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday took a tour to the Gravity Indoor Skydiving where the First Arab Championship and First GCC Cup of Indoor Skydiving are being held in association with Arab Air Sports Federation and Bahrain Air Sports Federation.

The contest, which began yesterday, will conclude tomorrow. During the visit, HRH Premier highlighted the importance of sporting events as well as developing outstanding talents in various sports. “The events would boost the Kingdom’s status and reputation in hosting mega regional and international championships,” HRH Premier said. HRH Premier met the heads of the participating delegations of the GCC and Arab associations, and watched the contest. HRH the Prime Minister commended the efforts of officials at Gravity Indoor Skydiving and wished the participants every success.

HRH Premier also emphasised the government’s keenness on encouraging investment in the field of sports as the best means to enhance Bahrain’s sport and tourism competitiveness, citing Bahrain’s outstanding success in hosting many international sporting events.
