Schools attacked in Northern, Muharraq governorates
Manama : Two schools were attacked by alleged terrorists in the Northern and Muharraq Governorates, Education Ministry said yesterday.
“Arad Primary Boys’ School and Karana Primary Girls’ School were attacked by terrorists, bringing the number of terror attacks on government schools to 555,” Public Relations and Information Directorate in the ministry said.
Ministry expressed its strong disapproval against the continuation of these “disgraceful acts” aimed at preventing students from obtaining their inherent right to education, which is contrary to the principles of the Islam and all international conventions and humanitarian norms.
“Terrorists infiltrated into the school of Arad, smashing the glass gate of the gymnasium, while in Karrana the windowpanes of one of the classrooms were smashed with stones,” the directorate said, adding the incidents happened recently. The Ministry has informed security authorities about these two attacks to take the necessary action, it said.
