Dr Al Nuaimi honours 159 AMA graduates
Manama : The ninth Commencement Exercises of the AMA International School was held yesterday at the Gulf Hotel, Bahrain under the patronage of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
117 boys and 42 girls graduated this year from the AMA International School, who were all presented with certificates by the Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi.
Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan, Assistant Under Secretary for Information and Follow Up at HRH the Prime Minister’s Court Dr Ebrahim Al Dossary and Philippine Ambassador Alfonso A. Ver were present on the occasion.
In his address, AMA International Schools Chairman Emeritus, Dr Amable R. Aguiluz V said, “Today marks the beginning of what you’ll become. Your dreams and aspirations aren’t mere imagination.”
“We will send 15 students from AMA, representing Bahrain, to Costa Rica to participate in the World Robot Olympiad,” he added.
Keila Jefferson was declared as the valedictorian and was awarded medals for being the topper in several subjects. Toppers in Arabic and Social Sciences were also honoured.
“My dream is to become a Chemical Engineer and I believe it is my hard work and my parents support that has got me this honour,” Keila told DT News.
