Bahrain Equestrian team win first place

Manama : The Bahrain Equestrian Team won first place in the team and individual military competitions during the Royal Windsor Horse Show, beating 25 other military teams.

The team consisted of Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Khalid Al Khatiri, Ahmed Mansour, Saber Faraj and Ahmad Abdul Kareem Al Jahromi achieved outstanding results in the championship particularly Shaikh Isa who displayed a remarkable level and won first place in the ‘St George class’ competition.

Mansour was fourth  and Al Khatri came sixth in the Bahrain Pearl Stakes and qualified for the Grand Prix after competing with the elite of the world’s Olympic competitors for top spots in the competition.

Al Jahromi also took third place, adding further success for the team, while Al Khatiri also participated in the His Majesty the King’s Cup at the height of 1.55m, with one of his obstacles falling down to keep him from the podium.

Marine Corps Brigadier General Noaman Al Hassan, Secretary General of the Military Sports Association, praised the outstanding achievements of Bahrain’s participants which including many of the world’s renowned participants. He extended his sincere gratitude and appreciation to Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force, and Brigadier-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard and Chief of Staff Lt-Gen Diab bin Saqer Al-Nuaimi.
