Book reading session for visually challenged kids
Manama : Bahraini author Lamees Alhassar hosted a book reading session for a batch of visually challenged children at the Saudi Bahraini Institute for the Blind in Isa Town. She narrated a few chapters from her coveted children’s classic ‘A Space Adventure To The Green Sun’ in the presence of the director of the institute A. Wahid Mohammed Alkhayat, teachers and members of the media.
‘A Space Adventure To The Green Sun’ has also been translated into Braille for the children as an aid to practice their English reading skills during the summer vacations.
“I believe that books touch upon the immense potential all human beings have to become tremendous catalysts of change and positivity,” said Alhassar.
“These kids prove that there are no boundaries that define greatness, and their willingness to learn inspires me,” she said.
The session ended with Alkhayat handing Lamees a token of appreciation for her contribution and commitment to giving back to the society.
