Bahrain has moved forward in terror fight: Minister
Manama : Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa yesterday received the representatives of GCC legislative councils, in addition to various representatives of counterterrorism authorities and the Permanent Human Rights Committee of the Arab League.
The Interior Minister welcomed the delegates, expressing the honour of Bahrain to host the regional workshop for representatives of GCC Legislative Authorities and the Arab Leagues on counterterrorism that concluded yesterday.
The Kingdom has moved forward in counterterrorism efforts and managed to foil terror plots, while working to support regional and Arab counterterrorism efforts, he said. He highlighted the importance of unified stances in dealing with various strategic issues to protect security and stability and reinforce active role regionally and internationally, expressing the regional security challenges, conflicts and the increasing threats.
The delegates asserted their common stance on terrorism and extremism and the importance to reinforce regional and Arab efforts to fight terrorism.
