Schools attacked in Diraz, Karzakkan
Manama : Education Ministry yesterday announced that two schools were recently attacked by “terrorists” in Karzakkan and Diraz villages in the Northern Governorate.
Public Relations and Information Directorate at the ministry explained in a press statement issued here yesterday that Karzakkan Elementary Boys’ School was attacked by Molotov cocktails, damaging the school wall and the space allocated for agricultural activities.
The directorate also revealed a group of masked men broke into Diraz Intermediate Boys’ School campus. However, they escaped the spot once seen by the school guard, before they can cause any damage or steal any of the school belongings.
The directorate pointed out that “the ministry informed the competent security authorities about the two incidents so they can take the necessary action”.
It expressed its strong condemnation of the continuation of these “disgraceful acts” aimed at preventing students from obtaining their inherent right of education, contrary to the principles of the Islamic religion and all international conventions and humanitarian norms.
