Children enjoy special ‘All Fun Day’ at Dragon City

ManamaMore than 100 children with special needs enjoyed a fun-filled day of games, activities, and storytelling at the ‘Bahrain for All Fun Day’ at Dragon City Muharraq. The event aimed at raising awareness about engaging with differently-abled individuals and help create equal opportunities for all.

Amin El Sharkawi, United Nations Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Programme Resident Representative, expressed his support for the “Kids Fun Day Out” event that is part of the Bahrain for All & All for Bahrain and recognised it as a positive step to engage citizens and raise their awareness to contribute to the various platforms and channels that kids with special needs can resort to.  

For his part, Samir Imtair Aldarabi, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Director said, “I am extremely happy to be a part of this very special event for very special children for the second consecutive year.”  

A photo gallery of the international accolades bestowed upon of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa was unveiled at the event and will be on display for visitors to the Dragon City Mall until 30 May  2017. The event was arranged in conjunction with UNIC and the Hidd Rehabilitation Centre for Special Needs.   

On the day, renowned Bahraini entertainers Um Hilal and Baba Yaseen delighted the children with an Arabic storytelling session, while international Bahraini artist Hamed Al Fardan known as the Mystro treated the children to some of his popular songs. The highlight was gift distribution by Dragon City, Sadad, MSK Racing, Little Caesars Pizza and the Ministry of Interior.
