Nasser 10 begins today

Manama : The Third Edition of the Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Game “Nasser 10” will be quite different this year, said HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. 

“The tournament would be brought out in a unique manner to mark its 10th anniversary in a stunning style,” said Shaikh Nasser,  Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee in a statement. 

He expressed his wishes for the success of the the championship which will kick off today and continue during Ramadan. The tournament will be inaugurated at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town with two games, beginning with Majestic Cars and Jurnas at 6:15pm, followed by the game between title holders Victorious and Suqoor Al Bahrain at 8:30pm. 

Led by Shaikh Nasser, Victorious are tipped the favourites to win back-to-back titles and are coached by Bahraini national coach Ali Jowhar, while their competitor Suqoor Al Bahrain is being trained by Bahraini national coach Mohammed  Sa’ad Khalifa. The other two teams, Majestic Cars and Jurnas are also being coached by Bahraini coaches. 

Elsewhere in Nasser 10, Hawar team was crowned champions of the Beach Volleyball Championship. The team consisted of Mohammed Yaqoub and Ali Marhoon who defeated Manama Team in the final match. The event was witnessed by the International Volleyball Federation representative Ramon Cisar. while Awali finished in third place. 

“From day one we sought to win, and we are happy for our achievement,” said Hawar players, Mohammed Yaqoub and Ali Marhoon after receiving their medals.
