BTA Junior Tennis: Al Qattan beat Darion
Manama : Essa Al Qattan defeated Darion Ali 4-2 in the final after an earlier reversal in the round-robin qualifiers to win the 12 years and under category of the BTA Junior Tennis Tournament, organised by Bahrain Tennis Academy (BTA) at the Dilmun Sports Club in Saar.
The third place play-off was won by Faris Al Toobli with a 4-0 win over Zayaan Siddiqi.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Darion defeated Faris 9-1 while Essa overcame Zayaan 12-7.
All participants including those in the round-robin stage received a certificate for their efforts.
BTA and Tournament Director, Dan Barrie commented, “The 12-and-under players were put to the test physically and mentally as temperatures soared by late morning. Hats off to the players, especially our finalists who showed superior conditioning in addition to their great skills.”
