Need new approach to face challenges: PM

ManamaHis Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday said that security and development go hand-in-hand and efforts are needed to preserve both. 

Challenges are unusual and, therefore, require an unconventional approach to overcome and ensure that their repercussions do not affect the development process aimed at bringing about prosperity for the nation and welfare for the people, he said.

HRH Premier pointed out that confidence is high in the Bahraini people, whose patriotic stances, as proved by various experiences throughout history, have foiled all plots targeting the Kingdom’s security, stability and development. 

“Bahrainis, with their honourable history, are capable of absorbing the dedicated work and tremendous efforts required by the current phase, and are able to overcome it safely,” he said.

The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving senior state officials, as well as trade, economic, banking, intellectual and media personalities.

“There is nothing dearer to us than this people, and the provision of the best services that ensure decent living for the citizens is given top priority, and is placed above everything else,” HRH Premier said, reiterating the government’s unwavering keenness on developing the services delivered to the citizens, and on adopting strategies and programmes that boost the development process and accelerate the implementation process so as to reach the goals it had set for the sake of the citizens.

HRH the Prime Minister praised the role played by the private sector in the Kingdom’s economic march, as well as its role in supporting the government’s programmes aiming to revitalise the national economy. The Premier also lauded the Bahraini experts in various fields, noting that the national competencies have become major investment-attracting elements.

Tackling the latest regional and global developments, the Prime Minister praised the major role played by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, in leading the Arab and Islamic nations and safeguarding their interests.
