Three expatriates die in fire at labour camp
Manama : Three Bangladeshi expatriates lost their lives and another was severely injured in a fire that broke out at a labour camp in Muharraq yesterday. The incident happened near the Casino Garden, Muharraq.
According to an eyewitness, the blaze erupted in the building at around 3:00 am and that the Civil Defence firefighters swiftly reached the scene and doused the flames. The building is now being evacuated for safety reasons, However, investigations are continuing to determine the causes behind the accident.
Taj Uddin, Information desk officer of Bangladesh Embassy to Bahrain told DT News that the three deceased are: Mohammad Sumon Abdus Salam Madbar; Harun Miah; and Shawn Miah Firoz Miha; who worked as labourers. The bodies will be taken to their home countries as soon the legal procedures are over.
“Arrangements are being made to provide food, money and a place to stay along with other basic necessities for the rest of the labourers that became homeless due to the fire,” he added.
