Batelco all set for Sodi finals

Manama : Batelco Racing, the first Middle Eastern team to win the Sodi World Endurance Championship four years ago, is hoping for more success when the team participates in the Sodi World Finals at RKC (Racing Kart De Cormeilles), France from 26th to 28th May.

Batelco Racing will be competing against tough competition against 40 leading international teams consisting of 400 drivers. Mohammed Mattar will lead the professional team in the 12 hour endurance race where he will be partnered with Ramez Azzam, Saeed Almahiri and Florian Garcia.

Batelco Corporate Affairs Senior Manager Osama Alsaad said that the drivers have been very busy in preparation for the race and are ready to put on a world class performance.

“We have a very strong line-up of drivers with all of them being familiar with the RKC track and additionally the technical team has been working on different strategies that can be used in the race. Hopefully this will give them a competitive edge. It would be a dream come true to be crowned the world double endurance champions,” he added.

The Batelco Racing team is also competing in the sprint category in the world finals, with Bahrain National champions Khalid Alsaei and Abdulla Buhendi competing against the world’s top 80 drivers with their eyes set on a podium spot.
