NIHR statement on recent security operation casualties

Manama : The National Institution for Human Rights has expressed deep concern about the results of the recent security operation that injured 31 policemen and killed a number of outlaws.

The NIHR, in a statement, praised the security efforts in arresting 286 outlaws and convicts who were wanted in terror cases and posed a threat to the national security.

The institution said that human rights cannot be protected without the rule of law.

The statement condemned violence that targets citizens and security personnel’s lives.

It called on all parties to exercise restraint and shoulder national responsibility to preserve national gains and constants, promote values of tolerance, justice, the rule of law and respect for human rights, as well as avoiding deepening hatred and division and standing against
violence.

It also called for an investigation into the death of a number of outlaws to clarify the circumstances and reasons behind the
incident.
