Accident reports to go online

ManamaTraffic accident reports will soon go online, thanks to a new technology announced yesterday by the General Directorate of Traffic.

“In a step to move forwards towards the implementation of development and modernisation strategy launched by Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and within the approach of the General Directorate of Traffic to enhance traffic services through the utilisation of modern technology, the department announced on Wednesday equipping its patrols with the latest traffic safety devices to directly deal with accidents electronically,” a statement issued here yesterday by the directorate read.

The directorate said, “This modern technology depends on navigation system and fast deployment of traffic patrols to the accident scene, in addition to document rights and liabilities of those involved in the accident and immediately release the traffic report.”

 “The move is part of the recent announcement of the General Director of Traffic to enhance mechanisms of issuing traffic accident report, through equipping traffic men with I-pads with software that link to insurance companies to send the e-reports to them to speed up methods of tackling traffic accidents,”  the General directorate of Traffic added.
