Over 5,000 people attend Medical Fair 2015 at ISB

Medical Fair 2015, a medical camp organized at Isa Town yesterday witnessed unprecedented participation with more than 5,000 people thronging into the ten-hour long event.

The fair, targeting expatriate employees, was held at the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) premises. The camp was organised jointly by Youth India, Indian Medical Association and Cancer Care Group under the patronage of Capital Charity Association. It was held under the supervision of the organizing committee Chaired by Dr. PV Cheriyan.

In addition to the medical camp, a medical exhibition, awareness seminar, counselling session, and mobile blood donation camp were also organized at the venue. Awareness lectures on common lifestyle diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking and alcohol were also held.

Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC), Al Hilal Hospital, American Mission Hospital (AMH), Bahrain Specialist Hospital (BSH), KIMS Medical Centre, Middle East Medical Centre, Royal Bahrain Hospital (RBH) and Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Centre participated in the fair.

Doctors from King Hamad Hospital (KHH), BDF Hospital, Awali Hospitals also rendered their service at the medical fair. Specialists from various medical fields including Homeopathy and Ayurveda were also available for consultation. Over 50 doctors, including specialists in orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, Oncologist, ophthalmology, ENT, General Medicine offered their services. Over 70 nurses and paramedical staff also volunteered at the programme.
