BTC Ramadan Tennis: Ahmed Qaedm, Khaled Qayoom win
Manama : Ahmed Qaed and Khaled Qayoom needed to work hard to defeat Hector Cortes and Mohammed Al Sayed 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 10-4 in the second round of Group 1 doubles matches in The Late Yousif Khalil Al Moayyed Cup at the Bahrain Tennis Club Ramadan Tournament at its premises in Juffair.
While in another Group 1 match, Ahmed Al Mahmood and Mohammed Abo Hassan received a walkover win from Alla Eddine Lakhdar and Siraj Bhaskar.
In Group 2 action, Ali Fakhro and Ebrahim Qaed won through in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 against Amir and Mohammed Sharif and Mohab Mangoud and Islam Abo Alam won a super tie-break 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 against Hussain Nashaba and Mohammed Al Mosawi.
In Group 3 action, Nabeel Dawani and Hussain Mukharraq defeat Isa Al Sammak and Ahmed Al Jassas 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 and Naji Al Samaheeji and Ahmed Omran receive a walkover win from Gerry Toledo and Raymund Leano.
After the conclusion of the three groups playing round-robin group matches, eight players advance to the quarter finals on June 7 with the top two from the three groups advancing along with the best third placed pairs in Group 1 and 2, the semi-finals are set for June 10 and the final match on June 18.
