Opening win for Juan Sala
Manama : Spaniard Juan Sala defeated young Bahraini Hamad Abdul A’al 6-3, 6-4 in the opening match of the 68th Indian Club Open Men’s Tennis Ramadan Tournament at its premises in Gudaibiya.
In the next match, Bahraini top seed and Davis Cup player Yousef Qaed brushed aside John Kaye 6-0, 6-1, while other Bahrain nation team players, Karim Abdul Redha won 6-0, 6-0 against Ullas K Bhat and Elias Abdul Redha was a 6-4, 6-2 winner against Dutchman Voen Uander Drift.
In other action on Day Two, Floris Jan of the Netherlands fought hard to defeat the Filipino number one in Bahrain, Jerico Bohol 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 and Serwin Rampersad was a 6-3, 7-6 winner over Roy Boutagy.
