Girl dies in bizarre accident
Manama : A seven-year-old kid was killed in a bizarre traffic accident that occurred yesterday near Bahrain International Circuit in the Southern Governorate.
According to a statement issued by the police, the seven-year-old girl, daughter of a foreign couple, drove a small racing vehicle without the knowledge of her parents and rammed into a metal barrier.
“The department received the case of a foreign girl, 7, who was referred to a hospital with critical injuries and later died,” said Southern Governorate Police General Director Colonel Mubarak Al Merri, confirming the incident.
“The authorities concerned rushed to the scene. Investigations indicated that the child drove a small racing car at the parking lots of Bahrain International Circuit without the knowledge of her father who was with her. She sustained fatal injuries after hitting metal barriers. Legal proceedings were taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution,” Col. Al Merri added.
