Four Bahrain residents have made it into Forbes’ list of top Indian businessmen in the Middle East.
Top business leaders in the Arab World, a ranking published by Forbes Middle East included four Bahrain-based businessmen and executives.
The list was divided into two categories, ‘Business owners’ and ‘Executive management’.
Renowned businessmen, Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group Chairman and Managing Director Dr Mohammed Rebeeulla and VKL Holdings & Al Namal Group of Companies Chairman Dr Varghese Kurian were listed among the top business owners. Investcorp Co-CEO Rishi Kapoor, and Karvy Computershare CEO(Middle East) Avneesh Mishra, were included in the executive management category. They were honoured in a ceremony in Dubai last Thursday.
However, UAE-based businessmen dominated the list. In the business owners category, Chairman and CEO of Stallion Group Sunil Vaswani is number one. Standard Chartered’s Group Executive Director and CEO- EMEA & Americas, V. Shankar came on top in the executive management category. In the owners and founders category, 90 out of the 100 are based in UAE, five are based in Kuwait, the remaining reside in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
“The Forbes Middle East Top Indian Leaders in the Arab World ranking recognizes the achievements of those Indian expats who have forged large enterprises within the region and beyond,” Forbes Middle East stated.
