Winds Disrupt Traffic on King Fahad Causeway
Traffic on King Fahad Causeway was disrupted yesterday due to strong sandy winds. The seasonal winds, which are locally known as Shamal or Al Bareh, have reached the speed of 33 knots (61 kph) and covered major parts of the causeway, mainly the Saudi side, with sands.
Saudi press reported that the authorities there had shut some lanes of the Causeway, while the sand was being removed.
