Body of missing boater washes up on Al Jazayer beach
Manama : The body of a Bahraini man, who went missing near King Fahd Causeway was found yesterday on a beach few kilometres away from the accident site.
Qassim Al Qallaf, 29, was reported missing near the Causeway, while on a night fishing trip with three of his friends.
Interior Ministry, in a statement, confirmed that body found near Al Jazayer Beach on the southwestern coasts of the island is that of the missing man.
The mishap occurred when their boat capsized in strong winds and high waves.
Two of the men grabbed on to the wreckage and managed to stay afloat overnight until the Coast Guard rescue team arrived.
The body of the third man was recovered on the same day by the rescue team.
A search operation was in progress for Al Qallaf on Saturday.
The deceased was buried in Al Na’eem graveyard, where family members and friends attended.
