New sub stations inaugurated
Manama : Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza inaugurated a 66kV and 220kV electricity sub stations at the Bahrain International Airport in the presence of Electricity and Water Authority Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Nawaf bin IbrahimAl Khalifa.
The project completed at a cost of BD5.14 million is expected to boost the expansion project of Bahrain International Airport as well as other commercial projects.
The move is in line with the directives of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The minister also revealed that the 220kV station at Danat city and a 66kV station at Ras Zwaid 66kV will be launched this year to power housing and industrial projects in the Hamala and Isa Town regions.
Member of the Municipal Council of the Southern Governorate Ahmed Yousef Al Ansari, fourth district representative Yousif Ibrahim Al Sabbagh, senior officials of the EWA, representatives of the implementing companies and the consulting company supervising the project attended.
