Released fishermen to arrive soon

ManamaThe 25 fishermen who were detained by the Iran officials on Kish Island were released yesterday, according to Justin Anthony, Founder President, International Fishermen Development Trust (INFIDET).  

The released are: Jegan, Jenish, Jose Prince, Arokia John Yufur, Jesudasan, Arokia Ebes Borgio, Baskalis, Anthony Pichai, Antony Soosai, Antony Pramod, Borjio Francis, Victor, Visuvasam, Arokia Bervin Besky, Arul Vivek, Arun Prajidan, Sajan, Savio, William Prabu, Joseph Besky, Dominic Savio, Nisanth, Merin Kumar, Raj Tilak and Anson.

The fishermen are expected to arrive on Bahrain shores in their boats soon, he said. 

“The Iran officials have returned their passports and other documents,” said Justin, quoting one of the released fishermen.

“I would further like to thank the media especially the officials of the Indian embassy in Iran and Bahrain for supporting the fishermen and making sure that the fishermen were provided with food, medicines, phone recharge coupons during the time of their detention in Kish Island,” he added.
