Police bust vice ring

ManamaFour people were arrested by the police for luring a house maid into flesh trade on the pretext of getting her well paid work, the Public Prosecution said in a statement yesterday.

The suspects, alleged to have involved in a vice ring, detained the housemaid, attacked her physically and forced here into flesh trade, the statement said.

“Investigation has been completed and that defendants will be sent to the First High Criminal Court for trial on July 5,” said the Capital Governorate Prosecution, Chief Mohammed Al Maliki, in a press statement.

According to the police, the victim came to Bahrain to work as a housemaid, a few years back.

The first defendant, who promised her a well-paid job, instead detained her in a brothel.  According to her statement, the first defendant assaulted her physically and pushed her into flesh trade.

“The first defendant collected the money paid by customers, while the second and third defendants brought the clients and the fourth defendant guarded the building,” Al Maliki explained in his statement.

The fourth defendant confessed to the charges pressed against him and the rest of the defendants.

The prosecution ordered them to be held in custody pending trial.
