Al Fakhar to face Batelco Gunners

ManamaAl Fakhar team reached the final after defeating Al Nawayef 2-0 thanks to goals from Ali Al Qassab (35th minute) and Abdulrasool Ahmed (83rd minute), while Batelco Gunners United knocked out the defending champions Victorious in the semi-finals 2-1 en route to the final in the Nasser 10 Football Tournament.

In each team, there are many prominent players with Al Fakhar spearheaded by Hussein Mahfoudh, Saeed Hassan Jawad, Hussein Ayoub and Mehdi Humaidan, Ibrahim Al-Qasab, Mohammed Radhi and Mustafa Yaqoub and other players, while Batelco Gunners United have goalkeeper Sayed Mohammed Hamid in its ranks and have a strong defence line composed of Jassem Al-Jeben, Hamad Al-Saba, Ali Al-Nuabi and Mohammed Al-Shamsi. In the midfield, there is the international experienced veteran Mahmoud Abdul Rahman “Ringo” and Ali Saleh as well as Saleh Al Husseini. 

The team might be affected by the absence of Brazilian player Diego due to injury. 

Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, the final football match of the Tournament will be held tonight 9:30pm at the Khalifa Sports City Football Stadium in Isa Town.

Shaikh Nasser congratulated the players of both teams on qualifying for the final and wished both success.

Shaikh Nasser also called on the fans to attend the match and enjoy the high levels presented by the two teams and to encourage them. 

Meanwhile,  Shaikh Nasser approved the prize amounts of the participating teams. The tournament winner will receive BD15,000 in cash and a car, and the runner-up BD8,000, while third and fourth receive BD4,000 each.

The teams who qualified for the quarter finals will receive BD2,000 each and the eight group stage participants BD1,500 each. 

Monetary prizes will also be allocated for outstanding players, in addition to awards for spectators attending the final match with five cars to be drawn for the lucky winners.
