Sports Federations claim sixes crown

ManamaThe Sports Federations Affairs Directorate were crowned champions of the Six-A- Side Football Tournament on Wednesday held at Khalifa Sports City hall in Isa Town.  The Sports Federations Affairs Directorate team, captained by Mohammed Salman, topped the championship with seven points from two wins and a draw and were followed by the Khalid Al Dossary-led Coaches team (6 points) in second place. 

The General Secretary Office (4), guided by Abdulrahman Askar, were in third place to round off the podium and the Media Directorate finished last with no points.

Four teams competed in this annual gathering, which was played in a single round robin format, which is part of the committee plan to engage its staff in a variety of sports and entertaining activities throughout the year.

This day-long event was organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and sponsored by Marathon Sport for sportswear, trophies and gear.

At the end of the tournament, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar presented awards to the winners and runners-up.

The event, run by certified Bahrain Football Association referees Ali Jassim and Khalid Ali, was also attended by BOC board member Abdulhakim Al Shino, who also handed over the medals to the top two sides on this occasion.
