Batelco launches VoLTE for iPhone

Manama : Batelco yesterday announced the launch of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) across the Kingdom for iPhone customers. 

Batelco is the first telecom company in the Kingdom of Bahrain to launch the Voice over LTE service (VoLTE) and from yesterday, all iPhone customers with an iPhone 6 or later can make wideband, high-quality phone calls using Voice over LTE (VoLTE). 

The new VoLTE service will take the customer call experience to a new level by reducing the call set-up time significantly. Additionally, it will provide superior high-quality (HD) voice calls while simultaneously allowing customers to truly enjoy 4G/LTE Internet experience without any degradation in Internet speed. Customers with the relevant devices and package will be automatically upgraded to enjoy the service. Apple is in process of sending software updates to all compatible iPhone users in the Kingdom.

VoLTE is an evolution of existing voice services based on IP multimedia technology and is a significant milestone for the 4G LTE voice roadmap.
