AGU rated 6th best university in GCC

Manama  : The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) maintained its position as the best university in Bahrain for the fourth consecutive year as per a global rating conducted by QS for university evaluation for the year 2017. As per the rating, AGU climbed the ranks to reach the sixth place at GCC level, and seventh position in the Arab world. AGU’s international position also witnessed a massive rise, improving 50 places to reach the 411th place out of 4000 universities covered in the assessment.

This came after AGU has met all the standards followed by QS for assessing universities, making a tremendous stride in its academic reputation index with a percentage of 125%.  Before releasing this report, QS evaluated more than 4000 universities worldwide and analysed questionnaires distributed to 115 mailboxes of employers that have graduates attended the universities covered in the assessment, as well as associate academics, serve in these institutions. QS counted in its rating on the number of views of scientific studies published in the e-database of the universities and the number of citations from them.   This includes more than 12 million scientific studies as well as analysing more than 75 million views.

Commenting on this achievement, AGU President Dr Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al Ohali said that the university had taken many steps to establish itself as an innovative university in the Arabian Gulf.

These steps, according to Dr Al Ohali, include the launch of a set of unique academic programmes, such as a PhD in innovation which is the first in the region.
