“The water-logging attracts bugs and mosquitoes making the area extremely unhygienic. People living around the area are unhappy over the poor condition of the road. The residents would love to see the dirt road paved by authorities. The need of the hour is a proper drainage system that make the area hygienic for residents to at least move around,” said another resident.

“Water-logging has affected business at shops in the area as people abhor to shop from cramped and unhygienic conditions,” said a shop owner on Road No 242.

“The area is overcrowded now. The area now has more people than it can accommodate. It has come to the notice of the Capital Municipal Council that a lot of restaurants drain dirty and leftover oil into the drainage causing the drainage to clog. The council does realise the severity of the problem and is coming up with a new regulation to fix this issue that will help the residents, shop owners and the commuters in the longer run,” said Engineer Mazen Ahmad Al-Omran, Vice Chairman of Capital Municipal Council.
