Karting challenge at BIKC

Manama Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) hosts the second round of the Bahrain SSWS Ramadan Challenge this evening in Sakhir and is a first-of-its-kind competition organised by BIKC.

This challenge has been designed to help cater to the demands of racing aficionados during the Holy Month. The format of the challenge is similar to the Bahrain SWS Sprint Championship.

There is an entry fee of BD45 per driver and registered competitors will have the benefit of enjoying BIKC’s SWS Practice Promo, where karters will get a free session for every session purchased.

Drivers of all ages are invited to take part, including youths aged between 12 and 14 may also compete and will be driving in the Juniors Cup.

Racing is scheduled to begin at 9.40pm with Qualifying. It will be followed by the Pre-Final at 10.05pm. The Final is then scheduled for a 10.40pm start, after which the podium ceremony will be held.

Valuable prizes have been allocated by BIKC for the overall winners in the challenge.

Abdulla Buhindi was the winner of round one held earlier this month. He raced to the chequered flag ahead of runner-up Khaled Abdulla, who fought hard for the win and was less than two-tenths of second behind. Ahmed Ebrahim rounded out the podium placers in third place.

A total of 18 drivers took part in the opener, with an even greater number expected in tonight’s meeting.
