Lavaud enters semis
Manama : Eric Lavaud was the first player to qualify for today’s semi-final in The Late Ahmed Al Mahoozi Cup - Masters Singles at the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) 2017 Ramadan Tournament at its premises in Juffair.
Lavaud defeated Rahul Jaideep 6-4, 6-3 to win all three matches in Group 2, with Karim Abdul Rehda taking on Ali Al Asfoor to decide the second qualifier from the Group last night.
In Group 1, Yousef Qaed was a 6-1, 6-2 winner and is awaiting on last night’s match between Rick De Groot and Abdul Rahman Janahi to determine the two semi-finalists in tonight’s matches.
The final is set for tomorrow evening starting at 9.30pm and will be followed by a Ghabga dinner.
The competition featured eight players split into two groups of four playing three sets of round-robin matches, with the top two qualifying for the semi-finals.
