ICRF launches ‘ICRF LIFE’

Manama : ICRF (Indian Community Relief Fund) launched ‘ICRF LIFE’  (Listen Involve Foster Engage), a student support service at the Crowne Plaza yesterday, under the patronage of the Embassy of India to Bahrain. 

A logo of the initiative was also launched on the occasion by Bhagwan Asarpota,Chairman of ICRF in the presence of ICRF LIFE Coordinator, Dr Babu Ramachandran, ICRF General Secretary Aruldas Thomas and other ICRF coordinators. . 

ICRF LIFE is led by a team of experts from various professions including medicine, education and counselling along with individuals with a passion for social work. 

Following the launch, a seminar was held for teachers at the Bahrain Conference Centre.  Around 60 teachers from seven schools including Indian School, New Millennium School, Bahrain Indian School, New Indian School, Al Noor International School, New Horizon School and Asian School participated in the launch seminar. 

 Dr Babu Ramachandran led the seminar, which focused on empowering children to face challenges they might encounter in school. “We believe that students need a lot more support these days and we welcome each and every student who is looking for support. Off lately problems like depression, suicide are on high among students and no one really talks about students issues, thus we launched this programme to support all students who are facing a tough time,” Dr Ramachandran told DT News. 

“Our next step would be to conduct a series of workshop for both teachers and parents to address student problems,” he added.

Experts including Rakha Uttam, Gayathri Ajith, Lini Reghunath, Dr. Jeanne Vaz and Dr. Mary John also spoke on the occasion.
