Anacin, Pereira clinch doubles title
Manama : Ronald Anacin and Cassius Pereira defeated Stalin Joseph and Uday Shanbhag to clinch the veterans doubles title on the 13th day of The Indian Club Ford/BMMI Ramadan Tennis Tournament at its premises in Gudaibiya.
In the back to back singles, Stalin Joseph recovered from a set down to beat Cassius Pereira 5-7, 6-4, 10-5 in a deciding third set tie breaker in the veterans singles final and in the super veterans V.V. Mohan went down fighting to Filipino Sammy Samaco 6-4, 4-6, 6-10 in another three setter.
Meanwhile, Elias Abdul Redha overcame a stiff challenge from Dutchman Floris Jan Hinnen winning 6-4, 6-3.
In semi-finals singles action, Abdul Redha is set to take on Frenchman Eric Lavaud tomorrow at 8.30pm.
