Cabinet deplores blast
Manama : The Cabinet meeting chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday strongly condemned the terror attack in Diraz in which a policeman was killed and two others injured.
Extending deepest condolences to the fallen policeman’s family and relatives, and wishing the injured a quick recovery, the Cabinet said that the hand of justice would reach the perpetrators of the act and get exemplary punishment for the outrageous crime.
Referring to foreign interference, the Cabinet said that Bahrain’s domestic affairs are purely a sovereign matter and any interference in the Kingdom’s national security is unacceptable.
“Bahrain would never accept any kind of interference in its domestic affairs, or the exploitation of outlaws to promote practices that affect its security, stability and civic peace,” the Cabinet said.
ILO seat
The session welcomed the Kingdom’s election as a regular member to the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for 2017–20. The membership reflects Bahrain’s distinguished international status and reputation, thanks to its efforts and achievements in the labour field.
HM’s visits hailed
HRH Prime Minister extended sincerest greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al-Fitr, wishing him and the Bahraini, Arab and Islamic peoples many happy returns. HRH Premier also lauded HM’s successful visit to the United Arab Emirates and stressed the importance of his talks with the UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum as well as with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, in enhancing joint understanding and action, and consolidating consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries.
Cabinet decisions
HRH Prime Minister has instructed the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to finalise lighting services, road pavement and sewage works at Complex 1056 in Zallaq.
HRH Prime Minister has directed to ensure that services delivered to the citizens, including water, are not affected by development works such as those currently being implemented in Riffa and its neighbouring areas. In this context, HRH Premier stressed that ministries and government departments should respond promptly to the citizens, the Press or other mass media
Cabinet okayed a draft law on issuance of the Family Law after the Sharia panel formed as per Royal Order 24/2017 completed scrutiny of its Articles. The bill was referred to the Legislature as per the constitutional and legal procedures
