Boards put up to stop peeing in parking area
Manama : Municipal authorities have washed and cleaned the two large parking grounds at the Government Avenue, Road 453 and block 304 in the Capital, which had become an open toilet with the entire area stinking with urine.
The cleaning company washed and cleaned the two parking grounds, just opposite the main Manama Bus Station and placed banners and posters to raise awareness.
DT News had reported on June 14 that the two grounds were being used by anti-socials for all kinds of illegal activities with the area stinking as men in that area urinate publicly on the ground.
“We went for an inspection on those grounds and we found out those open grounds are privately owned by some of the eminent individuals in the Kingdom, but we will still carry out awareness campaigns to stop such kind of activities,” said Mazen Ahmad Al-Omran Vice Chairman of Capital Municipal Council.
“Capital Municipality is constantly carrying out awareness campaigns against urination by foreign workers in public places, streets and between the corridors of buildings. The cleaning company washed and cleaned the site and placed banners and posters to raise awareness that such kind of activities affect the individuals, the community health and the environment,” an official at the Capital Municipality said.
“The Capital Municipality welcomes all kinds of suggestions and observations. Public can call us on our hotline 80001855 or online at the National System for proposals and complaints, which will enable us to contribute the development of municipal work and serve the public at the Capital better,” the official added.
