Woodrow claims PowerPlay Crown

Manama : Promising young golfer Sebastian Woodrow (11 points) won the Royal Golf Club’s Ramadan PowerPlay Serie order of merit, having won first place in the first competition of the four week series, followed by third places in weeks two and three and did not even need to compete in the final round to clinch the title.

Jerome Colson (27) won the final competition of the series and John Savage (26) came second which resulting in a tie for second in the order of merit, with both players on nine points.

Adam Dutson, the Royal Golf Club’s Tournament Coordinator was on hand after the competition to present prizes to the winners.

The exciting PowerPlay Stableford competition, which was played on the floodlit back nine holes of the Royal Golf Club’s Montgomerie championship course, gives competitors a choice between the normal flag location and a harder PowerPlay flag option on each green. In an added twist, competitors are forced to play the ‘PowerPlay’ flag on at least three of their nine holes and those successfully completing the harder option receive double points for the respective hole.
