Appeal denied in fake bomb case
Manama : The High Criminal Appeals Court has rejected the appeal of a Bahraini man accused of planting a fake bomb. He was earlier slapped with five years behind bars jail term. The accused was assisted by other men to commit his crime, but their identity remained unknown.
The culprits reportedly put the device at around 7:30 am on a public road in A’ali village two years ago. They burned tyres beside it before they fled. Police officers who arrived at the scene thought the device was a real bomb. But experts examined it later and declared it was only a fake bomb. Thereafter, investigations into the case were launched, as a result of which the involvement of the accused was was pinpointed.
