‘Art at the Harbour’ expo begins

Manama : Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Social Development, opened the 16th ‘Art at the Harbour’ exhibition at the Harbour Tower West Lobby yesterday.

Thirteen works of Irina Kotova entitled the “Nature Within” went on display at the Harbour Tower West Lobby. Her works will be on display at the West Lobby for one month.

Irina Kotova started painting only five years ago when she grabbed a brush and let it guide her hand over the paper. She let the brush pick the colours and mixed them to create texture. She understood that that is where her talent was and it was then that her journey began.

She started discovering different types of paint --- how to use them alone or mix them together and what is more convenient for her style.

She started with architectural buildings and moved on to portraits, seascapes, etc. and is now planning to experiment with new ideas, allowing her brush to take the lead.

Irina moved to Bahrain 20 years ago. She joined one of the Kingdom’s leading architectural companies and was involved in several of the island’s landmark developments, such as Bahrain Financial Harbour, Al Ali Shopping Complex, Bahrain Airport Control Tower, and many others.
