Scholarships for 2,500 exam toppers
Manama : Around 2,500 top graduates from public and private high schools will benefit from scholarships offered by the Ministry of Education.
Head of Scholarships Isa Al Kooheji said the ministry was in the final stages of the process to announce the scholarships for the academic year 2017-18.
The scholarship plan will be announced in the first half of next month, he added.
“Despite the acute financial challenges, the ministry has been particularly keen on securing the gains for students,” he said.
However, the Ministry will continue to send some students to local higher institutions, such as the University of Bahrain, Polytechnic and private universities.
The Ministry will pay registration fees and will pay for the cost of books in some cases and will offer financial assistance in others.
Applications for the scholarships will be accepted for three days to be announced later, Al Kooheji said.
