Eight tourism outlets temporarily closed

ManamaAt least eight tourism outlets, including lounges, nightclubs and a restaurant, will be suspended for violating the Kingdom’s laws and regulations and harming national tourism.

Located in different parts of the Capital Governorate, the outlets have been temporarily shutdown for periods of one month to three months, while the permit renewal of some them was rejected. This comes as per a decision taken by Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayid bin Rashid Al Zayani on Thursday.

According to the latest edition of the Official Gazette, the suspension followed the issuance of resolutions 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114 and 115.

They were closed as per the recommendations of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority CEO Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.

According to the minister’s decision, the outlets violated the provisions of tourism regulations in Bahrain in a way that harm national interest.

Similar decisions were taken by the minister during the past 12 months, shutting down a number of first class restaurants, bars and discos in a few hotels in the capital.
