Awali Mix beat Shaukar Shaheens
Manama : Awali Mix defeated Shaukar Shaheens by 35 runs in the first round/quarter finals of the Awali Champions Trophy Cricket tournament yesterday at the Awali Oval Cricket Ground.
Batting first, Awali Mix scored 160 in its 15 overs with the main scorers being Karan (48) and Felix (45).
In reply, Shaukar Shaheens were bowled out for 125 with Sanjay and Ishti both claiming three wickets each.
The second match saw Strikers score 167 in its 15 overs to defeat NDC Bahrain by 44 runs thanks to fine innings by Deepak (74 off 39 deliveries) and Shyju (40 off 30) then dismiss NDC for 123.
Third match action saw Lankan Warriors beat Fog Printing after reaching the target in 12 overs with Chaminda (26 off 13) top scoring after earlier dismissing Fog Printing for 96 thanks to fine bowling with Damith and Danisha taking two wickets apiece.
Ahmed Zayani also advanced to today’s semi-finals after scoring 158 in 15 overs to win by 25 runs against Hi Street Cafe Rising Stars thanks to a fine opening by Suresh (33 off 15) and Anoop (34 off 32) with a good contribution later by Shyam (29 runs of 13).
In reply, the Rising Stars were bowled out for 133 with the majority of the wickets claimed by Rijo with three and Anil who claimed two.
Today the semi-finals are being played from 8am and comprise 30 overs per side and tomorrow’s final also starting at 8am is 50 overs per side.
