Esol to set up new American school

Manama : Leveraging its 40-year track record of establishing and operating reputable international schools in the MENA region and beyond, Esol Education plans to open a new American school in Bahrain in September 2019.

The move underscores the organisation’s commitment to developing a high level of education in the region, in keeping with its history of operating leading international schools in the Gulf. The new school will follow in Esol Education’s tradition of providing a challenging educational programme delivered by a talented and dedicated faculty in a caring student-centered environment.

Esol Education also recently announced the planned 2018 opening of a new American school in Dubai, which alongside the planned school in Bahrain will bring the total number of Esol schools to eleven.

Established in 1976, Esol Education currently operates nine schools across five countries, and is the largest operator of American curriculum schools outside of the United States. The planned opening of the new schools in Bahrain and Dubai will be a major milestone for the organization, following closely after its entry into East Asia in 2016 with the opening of American School Hong Kong (ASHK).

“Over the past forty years we have built a strong reputation of educational excellence in the world of international education. The Esol Education schools enjoy the benefit of our longstanding relationships with accreditation partners, top universities, and teacher development and recruitment organizations,” shared Walid Abushakra, Esol Education’s Chairman and Superintendent.

“These connections, together with our experienced leadership teams, empower Esol schools to become leading centers of education in their communities, equipping our students with the essential skills they need to excel at top universities worldwide and in their chosen careers,” he added.

The new school planned for Bahrain will offer a comprehensive and challenging American educational program modeled on Esol Education’s highly successful American schools in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Egypt, and Cyprus. The campus will be designed to facilitate collaboration and project-based learning and will include generous IT resources, extensive athletic facilities, and customized learning spaces for visual and performing arts. Like a number of its sister schools in other locations, the new American school in Bahrain will offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as an option for students in Grades 11 and 12.

The new school promises to make a significant contribution to the K-12 education landscape in the Kingdom. “With Esol Education’s first school in Bahrain, we are looking forward to setting new standards in American and international education, delivering value for parents who are looking to provide their children with a world-class education and a pathway to leading global universities,” remarked Abushakra.
