Solar energy forum to be held
Manama : A major forum and exhibition to promote the use of solar energy and its related technologies will be held later this year.
Under the patronage of Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Solar Technology Energy and Environment in Bahrain forum and exhibition will be held in Bahrain in September, organizers announced during a press conference yesterday. The event aims to be a unique platform to showcase the latest technologies of solar energy industry and to be platform for the participants to build international partnerships. It will be held at Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre from September 17 to 19.
“We will be bringing in innovative technologies such as the solar trees to showcase at the event. We are in discussions with some of the top companies around the world to make this happen.” Raghunadha, a member of the organizing committee said. “The event will feature a conference, exhibition as well as a dedicated investment forum and business to business meetings. We also plan to organize some workshops delivered by universities,” he said.
Topics covered at the conference includes ‘Sources of renewable energy in Bahrain’, ‘The future of the Bahrain moving towards the implementation and use of renewable energy’, ‘Challenges of the sustainable development of renewable energy’, and ‘Support of the government organizations for renewable energy’. “It will attract professionals, project developers, investors, exhibitors, solution providers and pioneers. This forum acts as a medium in which renewable energy can be showcased, not only to present latest technologies, but also to educate the public, develop common ideas, create job opportunities, build prosperous business cooperation and more. The forum will also focus on the latest developments of solar heating systems for household uses, waste caused by conventional energy projects, earth heating applications, the smart network and solar projects, the concept of solar cells” Organizers of the event Arabian Gate Expo said in a statement yesterday.
