Hajj and Umrah office fee hiked

ManamaThe Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry has doubled the fees for operating Hajj and Umrah service offices, effective from June 1, a press release said here yesterday.

 “As of the beginning of June, the new decree 21 of 2017 regarding the organisation of Umrah campaigns has been implemented,” the Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department of the Department of Religious Affairs the ministry said .

“The insurance amounts BD1000 shall be deposited in the treasury of the Ministry instead of BD500. This insurance amount shall be provided only after the expiry of the license period without renewal and after the approval of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah,” it added in the statement.

The Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs has also called for the Umrah offices to rectify their current status in accordance with the requirements of the new resolution within a period of six months from the date it is published in the Official Gazette.
